Division of Scientific Research is a scientific research management functional department serving all teachers and students of our university. It works under the guidance of our university leaders and its academic committee; formulates the work plan for the development of its philosophy, social sciences and natural sciences; assists leaders in implementing relevant scientific research action plans, and improves scientific research related policies and management systems that conform to our university-running orientation and the development of the local economy and society.
As the only undergraduate university in Yongtai County, since Yongtai started its education, our university has taken the initiative to give play to the intellectual advantages of college talents, set up platforms such as the “Beautiful Rural Construction Institute”, actively serve local development, and help county economic development and rural revitalization research. The first county-level “Rural Revitalization Research Institute” in China was established with Yongtai County. Four teachers are employed as members of the expert committee and five teachers are appointed as village science and technology special commissioners; it cooperates with enterprises to serve rural revitalization, and establishes a joint research center for rural revitalization. In cooperation with Fujian Chenxi Information Technology Group Co., Ltd., Fujian Association of Young Architects, Fujian Yinfeng Poverty Alleviation Service Center, and Fujian Fumin Yunka Information Technology Co., Ltd., four research centers have been established, namely, “Digital Rural Revitalization Joint Research Center”, “Beautiful Rural Revitalization Joint Research Center”, “Cultural Tourism Rural Revitalization Joint Research Center”, and “New Media Rural Revitalization Joint Research Center”. It encourages and guides teachers and students to write papers on rural fields, and helps rural revitalization; and it establishes more than 40 scientific research projects in rural development such as beautiful rural construction and planning, rural financial services, etc.
Our university strives to actively promote university-local cooperation and make contributions to the local economic development based on its research platforms and scientific research projects.
There are more than 500 full-time and part-time teachers in FTBU, of which 40% are associate senior titles or above. There are more than 200 “double qualified” teachers. It has hi-level experts and scholars and provincial undergraduate teaching teams who enjoy the special allowance of the State Council, excellent teachers in China, and famous or excellent teachers in Fujian Province. At present, FTBU is in the first batches of “1 + X” certificate system pilot institutions approved by Ministry of Education and the “Software Development Vocational Education Training Base” of Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. It has set up a number of provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and virtual simulation teaching centers, and has a number of provincial-level first-class disciplines and courses, service industry characteristic disciplines, and application majors. It has obtained more than 20 collaborative education projects of industry-university cooperation of Ministry of Education and provincial-level major educational reform projects. It has won the second prize of many provincial-level higher education achievement awards. Its teachers have undertaken more than 300 provincial-level and above topics and published more than 70 professional textbooks.
