Founded in 2017, School of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creation, FTBU, adheres to the fundamental task of building morality and cultivating talents and to the construction of an innovation and entrepreneurship education system of “a tutors’ team, a curriculum system, a practice platform, an industry-university combination and a guarantee system”, five of which are united as one. Through the integration of theory and practice, cooperation between university and enterprise, and combination of innovation with entrepreneurship and employment, it can stimulate students’ innovative spirit, entrepreneurial consciousness and creative abilities.
By further deepening the integration of industry and university, cooperation between industry and university, exploring and promoting the integration of teaching and training, university-enterprise in-depth cooperation, giving full play to the industry background and resource advantages of cooperative enterprises, the school has formed an industry-university community of mutual integration. At present, it has established university-enterprise cooperation relations with more than 100 organizations, successively established practice platforms such as Furniture Design and Research Institute, Cross-border E-commerce Industry Institute, and obtained Fuzhou Entrepreneurship Incubation Demonstration Base. It has developed a variety of innovative and entrepreneurial education activities and encouraged students to take part in various innovative and entrepreneurial skills competitions. FTBU’s 25 students have obtained national university students’ innovative and entrepreneurial projects; 116 have been awarded provincial-level projects; its students have won more than 100 awards in the innovation and entrepreneurship competitions “Internet+”, “Creating Youth”, etc.
FTBU has always attached great importance to the cooperation between university and the local, and to serving the local economic construction. By giving full play to professional advantages, it has explored and practiced with Fuzhou’s and Yongtai County’s governmental organizations in the aspects of cooperation between university and the local, platform co-construction, talent project introduction, project upgrading and co-education, resource sharing of tutors, incubation acceleration, and function upgrading, so as to fully open up the “last mile” between the university and local entrepreneurship support, and strive to make contributions to the local economic development. It has set up Rural Revitalization Research Institute and so on, and introduced nearly 20 excellent projects for college students through the cooperation between the university and the local.
With the theme of “building a dream of Chinese youth”, FTBU has successively carried out the activity of “Youth’s Red Dream-building Journey” in a larger scope, at a higher level and in a deeper degree. In recent years, over 2000 students and over 200 teams have participated in the “Youth Red Dream-building Tour” activity, and connected 600 farmers and 50 enterprises.
Alumni are important embodiment of a university’s education and achievement. FTBU has been training a batch of outstanding students in 18 years. During the period of its running, it has encouraged and supported its students to devote themselves to entrepreneurship practices, and to innovation and entrepreneurship projects like “Internet+” through its innovation and entrepreneurship platform. In its Qingyun IEC Center, there have been more than 20 alumni entrepreneurial entities, and more than 1,000 employees have been hired. The success of alumni entrepreneurship nurtures the university, and creates a good entrepreneurial atmosphere by promoting the employment and entrepreneurship of students.
The school will continue to build a new mode of cultivating innovative talents with the integration of industry and university, and the co-construction of university and the local government. Based on the education, practice, competition and entrepreneurship incubation, it will cultivate applied talents with innovative spirit, entrepreneurial quality and creating ability.
