Brief Introduction to School of Finance and Economics
   
With the goal of cultivating application-oriented talents, School of Finance and Economics attaches great importance to the comprehensive development of its students’ morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor; closely combines regional characteristics; relies on discipline construction; and gives play to the incubation function of university-enterprise or university-local cooperation, forming a financial talent training feature that adapts to the development of modern industries and attaches importance to practical applications.
 
The school has four teaching and research departments, including Finance, Statistics and Trade, Accounting, and Financial Management. It offers full-time undergraduate majors, including Finance, Internet Finance, Accounting, financial management, international economy and trade, investment, and economic statistics. There are provincial economic management comprehensive training and teaching demonstration center, provincial financial accounting training and teaching demonstration center, ERP training room, modern enterprise operation simulation training room, accounting manual training room, financial computerization laboratory and VBSE comprehensive simulation laboratory.
 
The school has 20 professors, 49 associate professors, 43 teachers with intermediate professional titles, 25 ones with doctor’s degrees and 81 ones with master’s degrees. It has a collaborative industry-university education project and a supply and demand docking employment education project under Ministry of Education; a “Learning Style Inheritance Demonstration Base” project under China Association for Science and Technology; a provincial-level first-class undergraduate major; a preliminary research topic of the “Fourteenth Five-Year Plan” of Fuzhou Development and Reform Commission; a provincial-level new liberal arts research and reform practice project; a provincial-level offline first-class undergraduate courses, and some provincial-level social practice first-class undergraduate courses. In recent two years, its teachers have undertaken more than 40 provincial- and ministerial-level topics, more than 30 horizontal topics, and more than 150 self-developed teaching cases; published more than 200 academic papers in domestic and foreign professional journals, core journals; and more than 10 monographs and textbooks; its students have won more than 200 awards in national and provincial professional skill competitions in various disciplines. The school has built more than 60 off-campus practice bases for students; cooperated with large- and medium-sized enterprises and institutions such as Bank of China, Guangfa Bank, Shenghui Logistics Group, Deli Group, Fujian Zhihuisuan Information Technology Co., Ltd., and combined independent career selection with employment recommendation. In the past three years, the average year-end employment rate of its students has reached more than 96%.
 
Looking forward to the future, the school will focus on the development theme of “Enhancing Connotation and Strengthening Characteristics”, implement the national rural revitalization strategic deployment, closely combine the regional characteristics, take the overall improvement of the quality of talent training as its main line, take the reform and innovation as its driving force, build a university-local exchange platform, strengthen its strategic layout, and strive to explore a road of application-oriented talent training that serves the local economic construction.
